What do a sailor and an American crayfish have in common? Perhaps, the Dutch bureaucratic system. What to do with this invasive species, when the law restricts every possible option?

Nadat zijn broer Stijn in de familie groepschat vertelt dat hij seksueel is misbruikt door hun vader Theo, begrijpt Niels zijn eigen intimiteitsproblemen beter. Als kind was Niels bang om hetzelfde mee te maken als Stijn, wat de relatie met zijn vriendin Suzanne saboteert. Nu de waarheid aan het licht is gekomen, confronteren Niels en Suzanne Theo samen met de gevolgen.

After his brother Stijn shares that he was sexual abused by their father Theo in the family group chat, Niels understands his own intimacy problems better. As a child, Niels was afraid to experience the same as Stijn, which sabotages the relationship with his girlfriend Suzanne. Now that the truth has been revealed, Niels and Suzanne confront Theo together about the consequences.

Na een verhitte discussie met zijn moeder en stiefvader loopt de 24-jarige Emre boos weg. Toch klopt hij een jaar later weer op de deur, gretig om terug te keren alsof er niets is gebeurd.

Emre, after a prolonged estrangement from his mother, yearns to be welcomed back home in this short drama. However, the reconciliation conversation over the intercom proves unexpectedly challenging. Following a heated argument with his mother and stepfather, the 24-year-old Emre angrily walks away. Yet, a year later, he knocks on the door again, eager to return as if nothing happened.

“The Miracle”, een plek waar de zon altijd schijnt, met eindeloze mogelijkheden om te ontspannen en eten in overvloed. Het is al laat als Irma incheckt in het resort. Terwijl ze de omgeving verkent, komt ze er al snel achter dat alles daar is ontworpen om gezinnen te faciliteren.

“The Miracle”, a place where the sun always shines, with endless opportunities to relax and food in abundance. It’s late already when Irma checks in at the resort. As she explores the area, she quickly comes to realize that everything there is designed to facilitate families.

Door een collage van persoonlijke archiefbeelden en foto’s komt de geschiedenis naar voren van een semi-utopische, metaforische stad, waar alle straten naar dichters zijn vernoemd. Wanneer de oorlog begint en er nieuwe wijken worden gebouwd om de vluchtelingen te huisvesten, leiden abrupte en ingrijpende omwentelingen tot mentale verwarring onder de inwoners van de stad.

Through a collage of personal archive footage and photographs, the history emerges of a semi-utopian, metaphorical city, where all the streets are named after poets. When war begins and new neighbourhoods are built to accommodate the refugees, abrupt and sweeping upheavals lead to mental confusion among the city’s residents.
